The Rapha Womenís ministry endeavors to create an atmosphere where women can worship God, fellowship with one another, and grow in our spiritual relationship with Jesus. We truly desire to fellowship with, and minister to one another. As a result, we set apart time for group discussions and bible studies at each of our weekly sessions. Once a month we have a special event with a guest speaker, praise and worship, and great food!

Rapha is for women of all ages, and takes place Tuesday mornings at 9:30am and Tuesday evenings at 6:30pm in the main sanctuary at Resurrection Fellowship.

Rapha Volunteers Needed

Hospitality

The Bible tells us ALL to be hospitable (1 Peter 4:9) which simply means receiving or treating guests or strangers warmly and generously. The Rapha hospitality team accomplishes this by having greeters and ushers at every event and by taking special care of our guest speakers.  Greeters are needed at each event to welcome ladies to the meeting.  It’s important that women feel loved and appreciated beginning the minute they walk through the door.  Ushers help women find a seat, or find the nurseries, or locate the restrooms as well as taking up the offering and assisting anyone with a disability.  This team is also responsible for taking care of guest speakers when necessary.  This involves getting them water, helping with the microphone and answering any questions they may have.

Ministry

The ministry team serves as a support to our speakers as needed.  This team is “on call” at every event should a ministry need arise. The ladies on this team should have a heart and calling on their life to pray with women to see them delivered & healed.

Events

The event team is in charge of the many duties that it takes to put an event together. This includes, but is not limited to, planning, set up and tear down, food preparation, decorating and product sales.

Outreach

This is a new team to Rapha but one I’m very excited about. The volunteers on this team will be going out into and serving our communities.  There will be several opportunities throughout the year in which to serve.  It may be simply organizing donations to an upcoming mission trip, visiting nursing homes or volunteering your time at a local soup kitchen.

* Please prayerfully consider joining one of these teams.  Click here to fill out a short form, or fill out a volunteer card at any Rapha event and turn it in to the church office.  The leader of the team(s) that you have selected will call or email you with more information.

Mozambique Testimony from Leslie

I think one of my favorite testimonies is Miriam, who is a muslim woman.  She was in mine and Steffani’s small group while we were in Nacala.  On the last night of the conference she refused communion because she had to ask her husband if it would be alright for her to take it.  I asked her if she had yet received Jesus and Miriam said no, she wanted to ask her husband for permission for that as well.  The next morning when it was time to baptize the women, Miriam was there.  She received Jesus as her Lord and Savior, Steff served her communion and then, I had the honor of baptizing her.  Wow, all three at once (saved, served communion and baptized).  Pretty stinkin’ sweet!!  ~ Leslie

All Terrain Vehicle

Well, here we are with one week left in our study.  God has revealed His truth to me in so many ways.  I hope He has to you as well.  I want to remind you  to put July 19 on your calendar.  The author of “Quest for Wholeness”, Pat Domangue, will be our guest speaker at the River.  She will be a blessing and I don’t want you to miss it!  Let’s dig in….

Day 1: Always Without Ceasing

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”  Rejoice always!  Had a bad day? Rejoice!  Had a good day?  Rejoice!  Marriage troubles? Kid troubles? Financial troubles?  REJOICE!  And, pray without ceasing.  In the good days and the bad days, through troubled times and peaceful times….PRAY!  This is God’s will for you.  1 Samuel 2:1

Day 2: Thankfulness In Everything

Read 2 Corinthians 12:7-10 Paul had a thorn in his flesh and begged the Lord to take it from him.  But God said, “My grace is sufficient…in your weakness, my strength is perfect.” Then Paul began to boast in his weakness, hardship, persecution and difficulties.  When we are weak, God’s power is strong!  So be thankful for where God has you.  Being thankful changes who you are and the choices you make. Thankfulness is uncontainable and moves us to action. Are you so thankful for something that it changes who you are and the choices you make?  Tell us about it….

Day 3: Vow of Faith

Jonah was in a helpless state in the belly of a fish when he made a vow of faith to the Lord.  Read Jonah 2:1-10. To continue on this quest for wholeness that we’ve embarked on, we need to make our own vow of faith. “Salvation comes from the Lord”.  Maybe you’re not in a hopeless situation right now, maybe you are, but now is the time to establish that vow.  Take a minute, if you haven’t done so already in your workbook, to write out that vow.

Day 4: Sins Forgiven

In Mark 2, the story of the paralytic that was lowered through the roof, Jesus recognized the faith in the men.  Their faith moved Jesus to action, but it was forgiveness that Jesus offered first. You must accept forgiveness if you ever want to walk in wholeness and be all that God has created you to be.  You need to understand the gift of grace and that His blood has covered all of your sins.  The chains of guilt and shame are gone and you are free to dance in His presence!  Is there sin from the distant or not so distant past that is paralyzing you?  Now is the time for freedom.  Give it to Jesus. Galatians 5:1

Day 5: Confession

I once heard a speaker say, “Confession is good for the heart, but bad for the reputation.”  How true is that?!?!  I challenge you today to ask the Father to reveal to you any unforgiveness you may have toward someone and then confess it to Him.  Hebrews 12:14 tells us to make every effort to live at peace with one another.  If you feel led to do so, go to that person, and confess to them.  However, sometimes, that brother or sister may not realize that you have even been harboring unforgiveness and it may do more harm than good to go to them.  If it is a mutual disagreement, make every effort to live at peace!  John 13:35

So now we begin the final week of our quest.  I pray that this will be a blessed week for you.  I pray that you will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country.  I pray that you will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out.  I pray the Lord will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you.  He has made you the head and not the tail and you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.  You are the blessed of the Lord! Deuteronomy 28:1-14

3 P’s – Praises, Promises and Prayer

We’ve just completed Week 5 and I sure hope you’re getting as much out of this study as I am.  I am just returning from a road trip to Louisiana to see my family and I’m still exhausted!  But, settling in to His Word and this study is quite refreshing to my body, soul and spirit.  Let’s take a look back at this week and talk about it.

Day 1: Praises and Believe

Oh praise Him!!  He is worthy of our praise! He inhabits in our praises.  Do you need Him to draw near to you?  Praise Him!  Are you in the middle of a stressful situation?  Praise Him! King David set an excellent example of praising Him.  We learn from him that God is always praise worthy, God is in our praises, and God is the One who delivers us from all of our distresses!  Let’s praise Him for who He is, for what He has done, for what He is doing and what He will do!!!  You’re challenge this week was to write your memory verse on sticky notes or pieces of paper and place them in areas that you most often see.  Like the bathroom mirror, the dashboard of your car or the computer screen at work.  Did you do it?  Did you practice doing what the verse tells you to do?  Psalms 9:1

Day 2: Promises and Believe

The promises of God are Yes and Amen!  He will do what He said He will do.  Through this study, we are going through a process of healing, on a quest for wholeness.  God wants to heal us spiritually and physically.  Read Isaiah 52:14.  Jesus was marred beyond recognition for YOUR healing.  Stand on the promise.  Do not waiver!  Romans 4:21

Day 3: Prayer and Believe (Part 1)

The power of prayer from fellow believers can be life to those who are suffering.  Read Acts 14:19-23. Paul, a hero in our faith, had been beaten and left for dead but other believers gathered around him and he got up and went on about the business of the Lord.  Sometimes, even the strongest of us need prayer.  God loves us so much, He gives us brothers and sisters to lift us up when we are too down and out to do it on our own.  He is so good and His loving kindness endures forever!  Romans 8:35

Day 4: Prayer and Believe (Part 2)

The Lords Prayer, Luke 11:2-4.  So much to be learned from this seemingly simple prayer.  Pastor Jonathan just finished a series on the Lord’s prayer that I would encourage you to watch.  You can purchase from the Rez media center or watch it online.  My thoughts…. Praise your Father in Heaven and His kingdom will come!  Go to Him daily for fresh bread. Forgive….You are forgiven. Pray, lest you be tempted. Give Him all the glory!

Day 5: Prayer and Believe (Part 3)

Pastor Jonathan did teaching on “Heaven’s Oil” that I strongly encourage you to hear.  I know, he’s my husband and I love him, but he is an anointed teacher and this is one of the best messages!  Anointing oil leaves a mark on a person and pair it with the Name of the Lord, the Name that is above all other Names, the Name that is a Strong Tower and the enemy will flee!  But again, back to the beginning of the study, there must relationship involved. Read Acts 19:11-17 to find out what happened to some folks that used the name of Jesus but did not know him.

Do you know Jesus?  Are you in relationship with Him?  If not, I encourage you to invite Him into your life right now.  You can pray this prayer aloud. “Jesus, I want to know you.  I want to know the power that I have in you.  I confess my sins to you and lay them at your feet.  You alone are worthy of my praise. Come into my life and lead me. I give my heart to you.  In your precious and holy name, Amen.”

If you prayed that prayer and gave your heart to Jesus, I would love to hear from you and have the opportunity to pray with you and help you in this journey of faith.

Abundant blessings on you, Oh Daughters of the Most High King!

Actions to Healings

We’ve just completed week 4 and it’s getting deep!  If God is speaking to you through this study, I want to hear from you.  So, let’s dig in….

Day 1:  And Believe!

Believe is an action word.  You can’t just say you believe.  He calls us to a life of action.  You have to put “feet to your prayers”. Faith and works go hand in hand .Our actions will display what we truly believe.  What do you need God to do in your life?  What do you really believe about that need?

Psalms 27:13

Day 2:  Make a Choice and Believe

Read Deuteronomy 30:11-20 out loud.  I love the Message version of this passage.  God isn’t giving us a choice that is difficult but, nonetheless, it’s a choice we have to make.  And there is great reward in choosing Him.  Abundant LIFE for you and your children!

Psalms 1:6

Day 3: Cry Out and Believe

Are you desperate for something?  Are you desperate enough that you are “krazo”, willing to throw caution, reputation, all pride to the wind and cry out to the One who can,  “Will you have mercy on me, Lord?”  His next question to you will be, “Do you believe that I am able?”  Speak it.  Confess it.  Tell Him you believe.  And if you doubt, pray, “Lord, I believe, help my unbelief”.

Psalm 30:2

Day 4:  Speak Out and Believe

So, in our scripture (2 Kings 2:23-24) reading today, we read about some young lads that learned not to mess with Elisha! Whoa!  But, I don’t think that’s the point of the lesson.  The point is that Elisha new the power of the spoken Word of God.  Speaking God’s Word into every situation of your life has the power to overcome the voice of the accuser.  I would love to read some of your favorite scriptures to say to the enemy when he attacks.  Here’s one of my favorites when struggling with fear…Deuteronomy 3:22 Do not be afraid of them; the LORD your God himself will fight for you.”

Day 5:  Speak Out and Believe (Part 2)

This one hit me pretty good!  Our words are so powerful.  They can preserve life or bring destruction (Proverbs 13:3). They are a tree of life or they can crush the spirit (Proverbs 15:4).  Our words can promote instruction and be sweet to the soul and healing to the bones (Proverbs 16:23-24).  By our words we are acquitted or condemned (Matthew 12:37).  We need to speak out His word about our healing, our futures, our children, our marriages, our finances, our everything!  Again, I would love for you to share your “truth” scriptures that you claim over your life.

Proverbs 18:21

Wow!  What a powerful week of bible study!  I pray that you are going higher, deeper and wider than you’ve ever gone before.  I pray that you would be so in tune with His voice that when He calls you, you will answer.  I pray that you will find more and more quiet moments in His presence and long for Him in the moments that you are away.  Keep pressing in….

Why Does God Give Us The Things We Ask?

We’ve just finished Week 3, so let’s chat!

Day 1: Commandments Kept  1 John 3:22-23

Do you remember falling in love?  Your heart speeding up at the sound of his voice, butterflies in your stomach when he walks into the room, the longing to be with him when you’ve been apart, or the desire to please him, bring him joy or make him laugh?  We want to please him because we love him!

We want to please God, because we love Him.  We do the things that are pleasing in His sight, like keeping His commandments, and in return we receive from Him whatever we ask.  Not a bad trade!  But, here again, is that word that we’ve talked about the last 2 weeks….Relationship.  Are you in love with your Creator, your Savior, the Lover of your Soul?  Get in his presence today and fall madly in love with Him….He’s waiting…..

Day 2: To Glorify the Father through the Son  John 14:13

God works in our lives so that Jesus may be glorified.  Is there something in your life that you have accomplished and you know that He helped you accomplish it?  Please share your testimony.  Give God the Glory!  He deserves it!!

Day 3: That our JOY may be FULL  John 16:24

He wants us to have fun in our relationship with Him!!! Do you have fun with Jesus?  If not, perhaps you have a image of God that may be holding you back from the fullness of an intimate relationship with Him.  Do you see God as judgmental or mean?  Yes, He provides correction, but He does it with Love and Mercy.  Life with Christ is full of joy and laughter.  It’s exciting!  He gives us the things we ask so that our joy may be full.

Day 4: Blood Covenant  Hebrews 9:22 Hebrews 10:29

Precious Savior and Lord,

May it not be that I would ever overlook the distinction of who You are and what You did for me  Lord, keep me from ever becoming hard-hearted to the fact that Your body was broken and Your blood poured out for me.  Please make my heart more tender to Who You are each and every day.  In the holy name of Jesus.  Amen.

Day 5: Holy Temple  1 Corinthians 3:16

Our bodies are the temple of the Lord.  Do you keep your temple clean…holy?  This isn’t about legalism, laws or formulas.  It’s about relationship.  It’s about walking with Him and Him revealing His holiness to you.  2 Corinthians 7:1 “Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.”

May you have blessed week, beautiful one, feeling butterflies in your stomach, giving glory to Jesus, laughing in His presence, honoring His sacrifice, and walking the Holy Walk!  You are a treasure!

Asking…

Ok, this week we’ve talked about “asking”.  Let’s recap.

Day 1: Ask for what?    Whatever!  1 John 5:14

Have you ever asked God for something and gotten it?  Please feel free to share with us. Was it as wonderful as you thought it would be? Do we really know what we need, though?  Most of the time, we have no idea what we actually need versus what we want but God knows and is more than happy to give it to us.  Do we trust Him to give us what we need?

Day 2: How do we ask?  Boldly!  Hebrews 10:19-23

We are daughters of the King!  The righteousness of Christ! Because of the work that Christ did on the Cross, we are children of God, therefore we can come into His presence anytime we want and ask for whatever we want!  That’s good news!

Day 3: Ask Believing.  Mark 11:23

Do you doubt that God can give you what you need?  You can move mountains if you do not doubt!  You must believe it.  And, you must speak it. What are you saying about your situation?  Do you speak life into it or death?  Read Proverbs 18:21. Speak LIFE!

Day 4: Ask According to His Will.  1 John 5:14

First, we must be in relationship with our Father…daily.  If we are to know what His will is, and ask accordingly, then we must spend time with Him and get to know Him.  His will for our lives may not be what we want for our lives but we can be confident that it IS what’s best for our lives. If you are a parent, can you relate to this?   Spend time with your Father and ask according to His Will.

Day 5: Ask Abiding.  John 15:7

Do you spend time with your Father?  Our study today asks us to give up something and replace it with time spent with Him.  Can you do that?  Will you do that?  As we spend time with Him, our minds will be renewed  and our hearts will be in tune with His.

Please feel free to share any thoughts or comments…..
