Men’s Advance is a catalytic point in men’s lives that marks them forever. Like a tattoo that is not easily removed, Men’s Advance holds an environment of encounter with the Glory of God that leaves a mark.
I believe that too often when a men’s event is being promoted, the cry is that we desperately need men to stand up, be men, and to pick up their call and lead. It is then followed by a list of how great the need is and how little men have done to take a stand.
Now do not get me wrong, I think there is a right time and place for a good kick in our motivation. We should all be challenged to live to the fullness of God’s intent and calling on our lives. But the idea of calling men to strength by telling them how few guys are really strong, seems to be counterproductive and flat out (at least around Rez) not true.
So, I am here today to say there is an army rising from the inside out. Men are taking their stand as godly husbands and fathers. The call today is not that the gap is great, but that the great gap is being closed. God is winning. There is an awakening that is restoring true courageous manhood. Men’s Advance is not a call to stop the retreat, but a call to join the charge.
