In October 2010, the Loveland museum/gallery in Loveland, Colorado was embroiled in protest and controversy as the lithograph “The Misadventures of the Romantic Cannibals” was on display as part of an exhibition presenting the collaborative works of Bud Shark. Fox News and others reported on the story. In the five days that followed, Loveland Museum received over 35,000 angry emails from the public. Some of the email messages included death threats.
Jonathan Wiggins, Senior Pastor of Resurrection Fellowship, began corresponding with Stanford Professor and Artist Enrique Chagoya who created the protested lithograph. Pastor Jonathan addressed his congregation on October 16th, 2010. In this address he shared excerpts from these emails, including an offer from Professor Enrique Chagoya to paint a loving image of Christ.
